Travel Insurance for AMAC Members
We Curated The Best Plans For You
Frequently Asked Questions
Still have questions? These answers apply to most of the AMAC-recommended travel insurance plans on this page. For details about a specific plan, be sure to review the plan documents before purchasing.
What is travel insurance and how does it help?
Travel insurance is designed to help protect your prepaid trip costs and provide coverage for unexpected
events such as illness, injury, trip cancellation, trip interruption, travel delays, and baggage issues.
Many plans also include emergency medical and evacuation benefits, which can be especially important when
traveling outside the United States.
How do I choose between the plans you recommend?
The best plan for you usually depends on a few key factors: your age, total trip cost per person,
destination, and how much medical coverage you would like. The “Our Top Plans for AMAC Members” section
above highlights which plans tend to work well for different situations. You can also use the short
“Which Plan Fits My Trip?” quiz or speak with a licensed advisor for guidance.
Do I really need travel insurance if I already have Medicare or other coverage?
Medicare typically offers little or no coverage outside the U.S., and it does not cover medical evacuation.
Many domestic health plans also have limited benefits overseas. Travel insurance can help fill these gaps
by providing emergency medical and evacuation coverage, plus protection for your prepaid trip costs if a
covered event forces you to cancel or cut your trip short.
Can I update my trip cost after I buy a policy?
In many cases, you can increase or adjust your trip cost after you first insure your deposit, especially as
you add flights, excursions, or additional payments. The rules depend on the specific plan and timing, and
certain benefits—such as time-sensitive upgrades—may have deadlines. A licensed advisor can help you review
your options and make updates if needed.
How do I get a quote or purchase a plan?
You can use the “Get Quote” buttons in the plan cards above to compare benefits and purchase online in just
a few minutes. If you prefer, you may also request a quote through our AMAC quote page and have a licensed
advisor review your information with you before you buy.
Can I speak with a licensed advisor instead of buying online?
Yes. Many AMAC members like to review their options with a real person. You can request a call through the
AMAC quote page, or call us at 1-833-268-2622. If all advisors are assisting
other callers, you can leave your information and we will return your call during business hours.
I didn’t receive my quote or confirmation email—what should I do?
First, check your spam or junk folder, as automated emails sometimes land there. If you still don’t see it,
contact us with your name, email address, and (if available) your confirmation number. We will gladly resend
your documents and verify that your policy is active.
How do I file a claim if something happens?

forms. If you would like assistance, our team can help point you in the right direction and answer general
